PLANET OF THE APES
Born in a research lab, raised by humans, and banished to an animal rescue ranch after he attacks a neighbor, a super-intelligent “alpha male” chimp named Caesar leads fellow apes in a rebellion. The growing nation of genetically evolved apes is threatened by a band of human survivors. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war. Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind.
Alan and Craig discuss the new War for thePlanet of the Apes, bigfoot hoaxes, the personalities of bonobo chimps and Andy Serkis’ masterful performance as Caesar on this week’s Matinee Heroes!
